Ray tracing is a technique performed to achieve the realism in a scene. In simple word Ray Tracing is a global illumination based rendering technique employed for producing views of a virtual 3-dimensional scene on a computer. Ray tracing is closely related to, and is an extension of, ray-casting, an ordinary hidden-surface removal technique.
