Cephalopod molluscs, such as squids and octopuses, have closed circulatory system having blood pumped under the pressure flowing within the vessels. Bivalve molluscs, such as oysters and mussels, have an open circulatory system also known as lacunar circulatory system, where the blood flows under the low pressure as it falls in the cavities of body and not only circulate within the blood vessels. Molluscs having closed circulatory systems are quite larger, agile and actively move; molluscs having the open circulatory systems are slow, smaller and some are basically sessile.
