Where are the adrenal glands situated? How many are they and Explain their portions?

Each and every adrenal gland is situated on the top of every kidney (forming a hat-like structure for the kidneys), thus there are 2 glands. The adrenal parenchymal structure is splited into two parts:  the major peripheral is the cortical part, or adrenal cortex, and the middle is the medullary part, or adrenal medulla.
