This is a device which does scan and display vector graphics. RT-Cathode-Ray Tube. It is a device that permits a ray of electrons to be fired from a gun at the back of the tube on to a phosphor screen at the front. Various phosphors have various characteristics, for example they may glow various colors and for various amounts of time (from a few microseconds to many minutes).To create an image on the screen you can do one of numerous things. The first is to steer the gun around such as you would a pencil, switching it off and on as you would lift and lower the pencil. This would be known as Vector Scan Display.
