Parasitism is defined as the ecological interaction where a being lives at expense of the other. The parasite often does not cause immediate death of the host as it requires the host alive to survive.
Parasitism is an inharmonious (negative) inter specific ecological interaction, as though one participant is benefitted and the other gets harmed.
