What is Isolator and Circuit Breaker
Explain the term Isolator and Circuit Breaker?
Expert
Isolator refers to the off load device that is used for separating the downstream circuits from the upstream circuits for the maintenance on the downstream circuits. It is generally operated and does not comprise of any solenoid unlike the circuit breaker. It must not be operated when it is having the load. First load over it should be formed zero and then it could be safely operated. However, the circuit breaker is on the load automatic device which is used for breaking circuit in case of the abnormal conditions just like short-circuit, overload and so on, it has three specification.
a) Rated current,
b) Short circuit breaking capacity and
c) Instantaneous tripping current.
