Interim Standard 95 (IS-95) is regarded as the first CDMA based on the digital cellular standard by Qualcomm. The brand name for the IS-95 is cdmaOne. IS-95 is also termed as the TIA-EIA-95.

It is considered as a 2G Mobile Telecommunications Standard which utilizes the  CDMA, a multiple access scheme for the digital radio, in order to transmit the voice, data and signalling the data (like a dialled telephone number) between the mobile telephones and the cell sites.
