What is Benchmarking

Benchmarking: It is a measurement of the quality of an organization's policies, programs, products, strategies, and so on, and their comparison with the standard measurements, or alike measurements of its peers.

The objectives of benchmarking are (A) to find out what and where enhancements are called for, (B) to examine how other organizations attain their high performance levels, and (C) to employ this information to enhance performance.
