Within the Windows Workflow Foundation 4.0, activity is the basic unit of composition and execution of the workflow. Every activity in the workflow involves its own arguments and variables and is subclass of the Activity class. All these activities offers facilities for exception handling, flow control, data persistency, loading or unloading workflows, tracking, and transaction flow.
