Predominant fauna of desertic ecosystems is made by the reptiles, such as snakes and lizards, terrestrial arthropods and the small rodents. Within these areas, plants very adapted to the dry climate generally are found, such as the cactus, which are plants that do not have real leaves and so lose less water, along with the grasses and bushes at nearby places in which water is available.
