Why Windows Installer is used?
Expert
Windows Installer deployment technique enables you to deploy Windows-based and Web-based applications by creating the Windows Installer Package. Installer package has the extension of “.msi” and it has application, some dependent files, registry entries, and the rest. Then the installer package can be distributed to the different end-users by simply copying it over the target computers.
End-users can then run the installer package for installing the application anywhere in their system. The installation takes place by using the installation wizard; thus, users are able to easily install the application over their computers. Once the application is installed over the target system, application can then be used from the installed location.
