Expert
The structures which form the nervous system can be classified into the central nervous system (or CNS) and peripheral nervous system (or PNS). The organs of the CNS are: brain (cerebrum, brainstem and cerebellum) and spinal cord. The PNS is made up of nerves and neural ganglia. Besides such organs the meninges (that is, dura-mater, arachnoid and pia-mater) are part of the nervous system too as they cover and defend the encephalon and the spinal cord.
