When a process referring a page into the main memory such valid bit is not set to it results in validity fault. The valid bit is not set for these pages are as follows:
i) The pages which are outside the virtual address space of a process,
ii) The pages which are the part of the virtual address space of the process however no physical address is allocated to it.
