Illustrate briefly the scan line polygon algorithm?

This algorithm verifies and modifies the characteristics i.e. characteristics and parameters of the pixels along the present raster scan line. As soon as it crosses from outside to the inside of boundary of specified polygon or other region, it begins resetting the color for gray characteristics in effect filling the region along which scan line. It changes back to the original characteristic when it crosses the boundary again. It is time consuming.
