A real time process refers to the process which should respond to the events within a certain time period. If the event is not produced within the deadline, it generally results in the failure, or even life loss. There exist two types of real time system: Hard real time system and Soft real time system. For example: Medical devices, robots, and aircraft. A real time operating system refers to an operating system which can run real time processes effectively.
