Quaternary protein structure is spatial conformation due to interactions between polypeptide chains that form protein. Only those proteins which are made of two or more polypeptide chains encompass quaternary structure. Hemoglobin (or four chains), Insulin (or two chains) as well as the immunoglobulins (four chains, antibodies) are some examples of protein having quaternary structure.
