Photosynthesis effectiveness in relation to photic energy

What is an illustration of a lab experiment which shows the variation of the photosynthesis effectiveness in relation to distinct photic energy frequencies to which the reaction is exposed? Was it predicted that green light frequency privileged the reaction?

The experiment: Plants of similar species and ages are positioned each beneath (respecting their photoperiods) light sources emitting just one of the colors of light spectrum (that is, violet, anil, blue, green, yellow and red). The experiment is performed with each of the colors and subsequent to days each plant's growth is compared. Such plants whose development was normal executed satisfactory photosynthesis whereas those with abnormal development underused the presented light.

Chlorophyll is green as it reflects the green light frequency, that is, it doesn’t use the green range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Therefore green light does not favor photosynthesis (strangely green is the light which plants dislike).
