Of which cells is the nervous tissue formed
Of which cells is the nervous tissue formed? How generic function of this tissue related to the functions of main cell type that forms it?
Expert
The nervous tissue is formed of glial cells and neurons. The function of nervous tissue is to receive and to spread neural impulses (reception and transmission of the information). This function justifies the feature morphology of neurons, with the membrane projections (dendrites) to receive information and the elongated membrane projection (axon, nerve fiber) to transmit information at distance. In their turn, the glial cells support neurons and make possible their work (sometimes acting as insulators).
