Describe briefly the Object-space and Image-space approaches in Visibility tests?

Object-space approaches employ the directions of a surface normal with respect to a viewing direction to notice a back face. Image-space approaches employ two buffers: one for storing the pixel intensities and another for updating the depth of the visible surfaces towards the view plane.
