Modes of transmission-main signs-symptoms of hepatitis C
What are the modes of transmission, main signs and symptoms and treatments of hepatitis C?
Expert
Hepatitis C is caused by RNA virus and transmitted through blood (such as hepatitis B, through wounds, transfusions, sexual relations, accidents with contaminated material, and so on.). The usual manifestation is constant and various people that have the virus are asymptomatic. The liver slowly undergoes injuries and some patients change to cirrhosis, hepatic cancer and death. Today interferon use is an attempt to control replication of the hepatitis C virus. The assessment of the disease is made periodically by the hepatic biopsy and by the blood tests of hepatic enzymes. Viral replication can be estimated by the PCR (polymerase chain reaction).
