The two mains species of taenias which cause disease in humans are Taenia solium, or pork tapeworm, and Taenia saginata, or beef tapeworm. Besides such species there are silent the fish tapeworm, or Diphyllobothrium latum, and a tapeworm, Echinococcus granulosus, that is lives in dogs and cause in the humans the severe disease named as hydatid disease, or echinococcosis.
