Second mitotic period is named as metaphase.  In the metaphase the subsequent events take place: condensed chromosomes bind (or in centromere region) to the spindle fibers and obtain concentrated in middle of cell; the formation of mitotic apparatus is finished. Metaphase ends with the infringement of binding of identical chromatids and then the anaphase begins.
