This has been criticized in certain circles for being over simplistic, in specific not giving the complexity required to prioritize the broad ranging workplace risks present in lots of organizations. This is as well criticized for relying too heavily on the subjective judgment of the evaluator at step three to make a judgment on the sufficiency of existing controls. Since the setting of control priorities is one of the basic reasons why we analyze risk this could be viewed as the main drawback.
