External and Internal Fragmentation
Discuss what is meant by the External and Internal Fragmentation?
Expert
a) External Fragmentation is resulted when the enough total memory space is present in order to satisfy the request, however if it is not contiguous and storage is fragmented into the large number of the small holes.
b) The memory assigned to the process may be slightly greater as compared to the requested memory.
c) Difference between these two numbers is known as the Internal Fragmentation.
