Wireless Application Protocol (or WAP) is the protocol for transmitting data between the servers and clients (typically small wireless devices like mobile phones). WAP is equivalent to HTTP in World Wide Web (or www). Many mobile phones consist of WAP browser software to permit users access to the Internet WAP sites.
