WAP Push has been involved into the specification to enable the WAP content to be pushed to mobile handset with the minimum user intervention. WAP Push is mainly a specially encoded message that involves a link to the WAP address.
WAP Push is specified on the top of WDP; as such, it may be delivered over any of the WDP-supported bearer, like GPRS or SMS. Most GSM networks have a global range of the modified processors; however the GPRS activation from network is not usually supported, so the WAP Push messages needs to be delivered on the top of SMS bearer.
