The Merge Module projects are used to package files and components which are shared among several applications. Merge Module project file contains .msm extension. The .msm file includes files, resources, registry entries, and setup logic. File is combined with Windows installer (.msi) file to properly install shared files. If the particular merge module is used by more than single application, then we require to add that merge module in a package only once.
