Error Detection:
The data can be corrupted throughout transmission. It is termed as an error. For reliable communication, the receiver should determine the errors occurred in the data which is termed as error detection.
Error Correction:
It is the method to correct the errors and it can be handled in two manners.
a) If an error is discovered, then the receiver can have the sender retransmit the whole data unit. b) A receiver can employ an error correcting coder that automatically corrects some error.
