Difference between private and public regions

Describe difference between private and public regions in Veritas Volume manager?

Private Region: It contain meta data regarding the disk. A copy of the configuration database is copied to each of the private region along with the disk group. It keeps five copies of the configuration database. It is configured like slice 3. Once the private region is formed it cannot be changed.

Public region: It is the area where all users’ data is stored. Generally it is configured as slice 4.
