Difference between a classless and classful routing protocol
What is the difference between a classless and classful routing protocol?
Expert
Classless routing protocols promote subnet mask information all along with the network prefixes. Whereas classful routing protocols do not. Thus, for a classful protocol, all subnets for the main network number being employed should be of similar length. As well, classful protocol can’t support discontinuous networks prefixes.
