Sensory receptors are structures specialized in acquiring of information, such as mechanical pressure, temperature, pH, luminosity and chemical environment, transmitting them to central nervous system. Sensory receptors might be specialized cells, e.g., the photoreceptors of retina, or specialized interstitial structures, for illustration the vibration receptors of skin.
