Describe the term data constraints
Briefly define and describe the term data constraints?
Expert
In a column the data constraints are the limits which are put on the values that the data can have.
There are four types of data constraints which are as follows:
(i) Domain constraints: This defines a limited setup of values for the column.
(ii) Range constraints: This specify that the values must fall in a certain range.
(iii) Intra relation constraints: This defines what values the column can have based on values of other columns in the same table.
(iv) Interrelation constraints: This defines values the column can have based on values of columns in other tables.
