The near point is the closest distance among an object and the eye which makes possible the formed image to be focused, that is, it is the point in which the ciliary muscles are in their utmost contraction. The far point is the most far-away point from the eye in which an object can be positioned and its image is still focused, that is, it is the condition of maximum relaxation of ciliary muscles. The zone among the near point and the far point is termed as the accommodation zone.
