Douglas McGregor, the professor at Massachusetts institute of Technology and a social psychologist, was very much influenced by the work of the Maslow. McGregor identified that people have requirements and that those requirements are satisfied at work. He explained two sets of assumptions regarding people that he labeled Theory X and Theory Y.
