Polyembryony is the phenomenon in which a single embryo in its primary embryonic phase divides itself making many new individuals of similar sex and genetically the same. This is the way, for illustration, in which reproduction occurs in armadillos of the genus Dasypus. Polyembryony is an illustration of natural “cloning”.
