Period is not engaged with the time value of money and it does not even get considered while discounted payback period is another form that involves this and has the actual value of cash inflows that are evaluated in current amount of money that is given as a discount amount. The rates with that they are given at any interest rate are named as Discount rate. Payback period= year before recovery + unrecovered cost at the start of year/ cash flow throughout the year
