Define Cogeneration

Cogeneration is a very high efficiency energy system which generates both electricity (or mechanical energy) and valuable heat from the single fuel source. Cogeneration is some times termed as combined heat and not only produces power however also gives heat for industrial purposes. For illustration a hospital cogeneration plant would generate some of power and all hot water required for its laundry and hot water system from the waste heat it produces.
