The base transceiver station (or BTS) or cell site is a piece of equipment which facilitates wireless communication among user equipment (or UE) and a network. UEs are devices such as mobile phones (or handsets), WLL phones, computers having wireless internet connectivity, WiFi and WiMAX gadgets and so on. The network can be that of any of wireless communication technologies such as GSM, WLL, CDMA, WAN, WiMAX WiFi, and so on.
