Class Reptilia in Polar Region

Explain why a big representation of the class Reptilia in not found in the Polar Regions with the example of hypothesis?

Reptilians are found more in the hot climatic regions whereas rare in the intensely cold regions such as close to the earth poles. This can be explained since these animals are heterothermic, which means that they are cold blood and they require an external heat source in order to make their bodies warm. This heterothermic feature also give explanations for why reptiles are more active at the day time, since it is a period when they can use heat of the sun to warm their bodies.
