Cellular immune response
Describe how does cellular immune response take place?
Expert
The lymphocytes which participate in cellular immune response include the T lymphocytes. T lymphocytes is differentiated into three main categorized:
a) Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (cytotoxic T cell),
b) Helper T lymphocytes (helper cell) and
c) Suppressor T lymphocytes.
The cytotoxic cells are the effectors of system, that is, they directly attack other cells which are recognized as the foreign (such as, cells infected by virus, fungi cells, neoplastic cells, graft cells, etc.). The helper cells and suppressor T lymphocytes act as the regulators of system releasing the substances which respectively stimulate and restrain the immune action of the B and T lymphocytes. After primary immune response memory T lymphocytes stay within the circulation in order to provide faster and more efficient reaction in case of the future infections.
