The advantages of DOM are:

a)DOM stores entire XML document in the memory before it is processed. Thus, XML structure could be modified easily and the values can be changed, added, and removed.

b)DOM allows traversing the XML structure in any of the direction. This means that any node of the XML structure can be accessed by traversing through XML structure.
