Personal Essay: Security Manager

My favorite profession lies in the criminal justice, precisely in the position of Security Manager. I love this post since it lies squarely in my field of specialization. As a security manager, I am expected to protect an organization against criminal activities. Security manager position should not be mistaken for security personnel position. A security personnel is entrusted to patrol or monitor an area, but my job involves determining logistics, security strategies, and coming up with security schedule (Loeber & Farrington, 2012).

I feel this is the best career option since it requires someone who has high perception and communication skills as well as ability to lead and manage other workers, qualities that I possess. Additionally, I have always wanted to be in a managerial position so holding this position would be a dream come true. That is why in my academics I will major in criminal justice so that I can fit well in this position. Another strategy that will help me improve my employment opportunity or even advance to the position of a security manager is seeking certification. I can obtain certification from American Society for Industrial Security International, which offers a Certification Protection credential.

The world is craving for peace. There is no better method of achieving this than implementing security strategies and policies to create a secure environment. The need to create a peaceful environment has always motivated me to work hard towards achieving this goal, the goal to head a security department or just be in the position of a security manager. As a security manager, I will develop and enforce security strategies to create a safe environment for both staff and visitors (Jennings, Loeber, Pardini, Piquero, & Farrington, 2016).

The key responsibilities of a security manager vary from one organization to another. However, my favorite organization to hold this position would be serving as a security manager for a Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Here, I will be in charge of security operations at an airport terminal. I will be in charge of supervisors and transportation security officers (Edwards, 2013). Additionally, I want to hold such a position so that I can manage screening checkpoints, recognize and recommend corrections to improper use of equipment or screening procedures, manage workers performance, and coordinate incident response at the local level as well as coordinating with other airport staff to maintain security throughout the terminal.

These duties also coincide with my ultimate goals of securing travel and protecting people. I have confidence and will instill confidence in their workforce to ensure that the traveling public, airlines, and all individual's on an aircraft get to their destination in a safe and worry-free environment. Managing the screening operation will be my principal responsibility. This means that I will be making sure that the standard operating procedures follow all procedures. I will make sure that all employee knows the required procedures and is proficient in their tasks.
Another important aspect of this position is that it requires someone who can make informed decisions, a quality I possess. If an incident were to occur, I am expected to act a liaison between the Federal Security Director, and make an informed decision based on the situation.
In conclusion, it is evident that my dream career opportunity is on that has a lot of responsibilities and forms an important part of the organization. Security is my top priority as I aspire to serve in this position. My great passion is to ensure that criminals will never get a chance to cause harm to people.

Discussion 2

Class,

The topic that I chose to use throughout this course is childcare because Childcare is imperative to my life as a single working mom, I know that for that is as well for many traditional families. And as a new mom going back to work and looking for a daycare I had no idea what I was doing I was reading the state information, and the different level ratings in my state and I might as well have been trying to read Chinese. So I just went with the first place I saw because my mom thought the daycare was great. turned out to be a nightmare. The daycare made my son lay down 5 out of the 8 hours he was there at over a year old. There were days when they would change his diaper all day eventually he got his first diaper rash from this place. The children were being yelled at all day. One employee smacked my son in the mouth for biting, a habit that he had been broke of for some time at that point. My son started regressing and would cry when I would drop him off, the providers would tell me that he wouldn't speak to them at all. My son is the type of kid that is so very outgoing has never met a stranger and will tell you stories all day, and though his vocabulary wasn't as advanced at one he did speak the words he "had" all the time. Then the owner took to slandering me on social media. Lucky enough a family friend worked at a daycare and the got my son in immediately. The cost of the new day care was a lot more than the old one but I had daycare assistance at the time so it lessoned the blow, however a few months later I lost that assistance due to the amount of money I made. So here was yet another hurtle. We went through another daycare change recently, but now I'm a pro. I have started trying to help other mothers find help and a provider when I can.

So with this big long story, I feel that the direction that my paper will take is one that addresses how to find childcare, how to detect issues when visiting a childcare, and how childcare facilities are rated, and where to get assistance for the cost of childcare. This of course will be in relation to my specific state. Due to the fact that childcare laws, practices, and assistance are all state specific.

Rosalynd,

Thank you for starting off the discussion this week with a strong topic. I can see that you are determined to overcome the struggle because you want the best childcare possible for your son. Unfortunately, some daycare facilities serve as baby sitters while others operate as learning centers. I had the luxury of my mother and grandmother caring for my daughter when she was not school age. My wife lived in Florida with her daughters, which are mine now too. There were a large variety, but a church recommended a nice learning center.

It is good that you are helping other parents find suitable childcare. Are there any childcare referral agencies located where you live? I have heard parents talk about using one to find suitable childcare for their children. I am looking forward to reading your paper. You picked a topic where there are plenty of resources covering the subject in the areas that you will be covering.

Thanks,

Ronald

Discussion 5

Hi class,

I worked on mastering the two-step Linear Inequalities ; had some problems trying to solve it.

I reviewed the Instructor's Insights and was shown how to solve from the original inequality to simplifying it.

I can now say that I've learned how to solve a two- step linear inequality.

Discussion 6

My little happy moment today on Aleks was me seeing how simple writing out a inequalities. I had been working my way around at part of the pie on purpose due to me feeling overwhelmed by just the looks of it as I remembered struggling with it in high school but, I started to conquer the hill today!

I had someone from this sight to do this they said they would. They waited till the last minute and no response. Please if you respond. Please have quality A+ work and on time work with communication so that I'm not waisting my time. As for that other person, I will be posting a bad review.
