While a number of problems with the original method

While a number of problems with the original method proposed in the experimental plan (Appendix E) have been addressed in section 2.3 some important limitations remain. The most significant and recurring problem with the method used was a lack of data points. For accurate conclusions to be drawn about flow behaviour in a packed column significantly more data points are required. As an adjunct to this, taking pressure drops at predetermined (and often overly wide) gas flow rates was not sufficient to pin point exact loading and flooding points, this has particular relevance to hypothesis three as verifying the accuracy of the Sherwood equation requires accurate flooding point information.
