Assignment: Failed Technology Projects
Technical projects fail when they deliver significantly late, substantially over budget, and/or with significant features missing or unusable. Sponsors may lose patience and cancel stalled projects. Please respond to the following:
• Identify a business information system project that failed in any of these ways within the last 3 years. Do not repeat an example from the textbook or one that has been posted by another student.
• In your opinion, what was the likely root cause of this failure?
• What warning signs were ignored, and why?
In academia, facts must be verified and opinions supported, so offer a rationale that includes something you've learned this week. Include references as appropriate, but do not quote or paraphrase.
Discussions are an important part of your learning. Share your thoughts, suggestions, and questions with your classmates and learn from theirs. Interact just as you would in a traditional classroom. Post your initial response by Wednesday. Then, return on a couple of other days to interact with your classmates.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
