Given that you are able to perform a diffusion experiment during a period of 30 days and that you are able to analyze a diffusion layer with thickness of order of 10-3 cm, what is a rough estimate of the smallest diffusion coefficient that could be studied? If the sample is Cu, what is the lowest temperature at which the experiment could be made? If the temperature is increased to 950 C, how does this affect the time needed to achieve the same result? (Given that for Cu, Do=0.6 cm2/s and E (activation energy) is 1.85 eV/atom.
