1. How did the suffrage movement (1848-1920) reflect society's expectations of gender roles? Do you think women's involvement in the suffrage movement enhanced their role in public life? Why, or why not?
2. The 19th Amendment was the result of a collective effort of many women and men. How can you relate to the sense of accomplishment felt by many of the suffragists in the aftermath of the ratification of the 19th Amendment?
