You have spent the last seven weeks learning about professional communication in both written and verbal form. As a manager, it is important to ensure that you are using the most effective techniques and consideration when communicating with those both internal and external to the organization. Communication is one of the areas in which you can earn a reputation as a professional, whether it is good or not, so you want to ensure that you are using all of the best communication practices in the appropriate manner.
Review previously assigned Books and Resources as necessary to prepare for this week's assignment.
Activity Description
In a final paper, respond to the questions below to demonstrate your overall knowledge of the materials studied throughout this course. Provide specific examples where applicable to illustrate your responses and validate best communications practices in business.
1.What impact, positive or negative, has electronic media had in communicating business-related information?
2.As a manager, what factors might you consider in selecting the most effective communication tools for your employees? For internal leadership? For your external stakeholders?
3.What, in your opinion, are the most important communication skills an effective manager should have to be successful in a diverse work environment? Provide your rationale.
4.What do you see as the most significant communication tools that have emerged during the past five years that managers are using to make a positive difference in organizations?
