This essay asks you to analyze several of the important aspects of the women's rights movement and feminism that historians focus on: change over time and relevance. In addition to the assigned reading from Ruth Rosen, you will research topics of interest to you and incorporate them into your essay.

You must thoroughly incorporate the assigned reading from Rosen in your essay.

You must also find and discuss a minimum of 2-4 news articles from the past 5 years on women's rights and/or feminism that you find interesting. Article topics are up to you: pregnancy discrimination, same-sex marriage, equal pay, gender equality, equal rights amendment, women in combat, women's march, etc.

(a) What (if anything) do you think has remained consistent about the movement over time and what do you think has changed the most?

(b) In what ways do you think that a women's rights movement and/or feminism remains relevant in today's society? Explain.

2. 2 to 4 news articles of your choice on any aspect of the contemporary women's rights movement. Articles must meet the following requirements:

• Only legitimate newspaper articles with a posted author. (NO encyclopedias or blogs).

• Articles may be from domestic and/or international newspapers

• Articles must be from different newspapers.

• Articles must be dated within the past five years.
