Training employees in regards to technology

Change Factors: Change is something that is not always quickly or easily embraced by a company or individuals. It often represents a disruption in routines, activities, and the way we see our jobs and roles within a company.

What are some factors management should examine prior to approving a change in its company's technology?

Attitudes: It is hard to argue that training is not important in most jobs. However it can be expensive and requires a major commitment on the part of an employer. Then there is the question of whether a company can ever quantify or capture a return on its investment.

What is Hewlett-Packard's current company's attitude towards training employees in regards to technology?

Involvement: Aesop once said "Familiarity breeds contempt", meaning that the more we know about someone or something the easier it is to find fault. The same may hold true with technology projects. We want people to accept the system yet we don't want a lot of negativity.
