Think about the resulting losses when banks allow social security numbers to be stolen by careless acts of clerks. Other more vicious crimes aggressively attack the firewalls of large security firms and even government agencies. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) records, social security numbers, bank account numbers, and other personal data are compromised so often that it seems we are never safe when using the Internet.
